Police Training Services Company presents a wide variety of professional seminars to enhance the knowledge and skills of law enforcement officers. These seminars focus on all facets of police work including (but not limited to): Officer Involved Shootings, Tactics, Leadership, Terrorism, Command Post Operations, and Incident Command System (SEMS/NIMS). Through these seminars the officer will learn a myriad of essential police skills. These skills will provide an officer with a basic knowledge required to succeed and survive in the demanding field of law enforcement. All seminars are taught by professionals with numerous years of field experience.

Officer Involved Shooting Seminar

Police Training Services Company (PTSC) is proud to announce that the popular seminar series, “Officer Involved Shootings” has returned and will be hosted by LA CLEAR. These seminars feature officers who were involved in shootings.
Recently retired Los Angeles Police Officer Todd Rheingold will discuss two of the shootings he was involved with. While a member of the LAPD SWAT Team Todd was involved in the “Pena” shooting and the “Randy Simmons” shooting. Officer Rheingold will discuss personal preparation prior to a shooting; tactical preparations; the tactics involved in both shootings; the tactical aftermath; and finally, the incident’s personal impact on those involved (officers, family, and department). Officer Rheingold recently retired from the LAPD after thirty years of service and approximately fourteen of those with SWAT.
Lieutenant Art Ruditsky, Los Angeles Police Department (Retired) will follow in the afternoon with a “Responding to Officer Involved Shootings” presentation. Utilizing PowerPoint, audience interaction and videos, Art will discuss the numerous details that must be dealt with by responding patrol officers and supervisors. Some of the topics to be reviewed will be: officer safety, searches, emotional stress of involved officers and dealing with officer/suspect injuries.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: If you have never been involved in a shooting or responded to one this seminar is a must for your personal and career survival. The seminar is designed for both officers and supervisors.

Surviving Ambushes and Officer Survival

Police Training Services Company (PTSC) is proud to announce the seminar, “Surviving Ambushes and Officer Survival,” will be hosted by LA CLEAR.
The first four hours of the class will deal with SURVIVING AMBUSHES. A variety of topics will be discussed including but not limited to: mind set going (and prior to the ambush); knowing your area of work which helps identify ambush indicators; cover and concealment options; movement and placement of the police vehicle; fire and maneuver by single and multiple officers; controlled cover fire and suppressive fire; communications with other officers at the scene, responding personnel, watch commander, etc,; containing the immediate area; and perimeters. Recently retired Los Angeles Police Officer Todd Rheingold will present this portion of the seminar. Officer Rheingold recently retired from the LAPD after thirty years of service and approximately fourteen of those with SWAT. He has taught the subject to in-service officers and recruits.
The second portion of the seminar will be OFFICER SURVIVAL. The material presented in this section will provide attendees with statistical data relative to officer deaths and assaults. In addition, the presenter, retired Lieutenant Art Ruditsky, will discuss such topics as weapons, vehicles and resources from an officer survival/safety standpoint. Numerous tips, hints and recommendations will be presented which will enable officers to establish their personal survival/safety training programs. Supervisors attending will be presented with invaluable information for creating unit and department training programs. At the final portion of his presentation, Art along with class participation will dissect several officer-involved shootings. Art Ruditsky spent thirty years with the Los Angeles Police Department. He served in eight geographic patrol divisions and always ensured his officers were among the best trained. Art has trained thousands of officers and utilizes PowerPoint based lecture, videos, role-playing and scenarios to create a unique learning environment.

Active Shooter / Rapid Deployment

Police Training Services Company (PTSC) is proud to announce the seminar, “Active Shooter / Rapid Deployment,” will be hosted by LA CLEAR.
This seminar is designed to provide responding officers with the ability to quickly assess a situation and determine the appropriate response. Officers will learn about the configuration and deployment of contact and rescue teams. In addition participants will be provided with the correct and safe way to move in hallways and on stairwells; room entries and clearing methods; areas of responsibility; shooting on the move; and how to deal with suspects when confronted. Officers will also learn officer down techniques and rescue operations. Students will discuss needed equipment and utilization.
In addition to the classroom presentation officers will be provided the opportunity to practice their skills. The two instructors are both veteran police officers. Recently retired Los Angeles Police Officer Todd Rheingold had thirty years with the Los Angeles Police Department and spent fourteen of those years on the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT). His fellow instructor is Officer Keith Bacon who has twenty-three years with LAPD and thirteen with SWAT. Both officers have made countless entries, trained literally thousands of patrol and SWAT officers and have been recognized as outstanding instructors.

Will Present The Seminar,
Tactical Warrant Service
HOSTED BY LA CLEAR
Police Training Services Company (PTSC) is proud to announce that the seminar, “Tactical Warrant Service” will be hosted by LA CLEAR.
The class will have three basic parts: before, during and after the warrant service. First, detectives will deal with the preparation for the service of the warrant. Some of the topics will be: gathering intelligence relative to the intended target area by on-site surveillance, ground aerial photography, undercover operations, informants and other methods. In addition, suspect information will be discussed (physical description, past criminal activity, weapons used and other possible suspects). Participants will also receive training on how to prepare for the execution of the warrant (dynamic entry or surround and call out, utilization of uniformed personnel, notifications, equipment, individual roles in the service of the warrant, tactics for service, resources needed, additional units available and rehearsals). Time will be provided for developing a tactical plan.
The next phase of training will be the actual execution of the warrant. Subjects to be discussed will include: creating an effective convoy and approach to the location, applicable and necessary announcements, methods of approach, methods and locations for breaching, diversionary tactics, tactical team configuration and movement, room clearing methods, weapons and placement, overcoming obstacles/potential hazards, hallways/stairwell techniques and arresting and controlling suspects.
Finally, instruction will be provided on the final phase of the warrant service and that is debriefing. Lessons learned is an invaluable part of officer survival and future warrant service. How to conduct a debriefing and who should be present will be discussed.
With a combined 27 years of SWAT experience retired Officer Todd Rheingold and Officer Keith Bacon will provide outstanding training.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Officers, sergeants and lieutenants who understand the requirement for prior planning and the need to be tactically sound when serving a warrant.

PTSC reserves the right to refuse registration and to replace instructors as needed. Tuition fees are due prior to the course. Cancellations three weeks prior to the course will receive full reimbursement minus a $25 administrative charge; cancellations one to two weeks prior will receive a 50% refund; and failure to attend will result in forfeited tuition fees. PTSC reserves the right to cancel any course up to 14 days prior to the scheduled start date. All tuition fees will be refunded should this occur.
