Officer Danny Bunch and his K-9 partner (Volker) were working the day shift when their assistance was needed.  An armed robbery with shots fired resulting in a police pursuit had now terminated with suspects possibly inside a perimeter.  Officer Bunch responded, initiated a plan and set out with a search team looking for a suspect.  The ensuing search resulted in an officer involved shooting under a building.

Routine patrol does not always mean routine patrol.  As a memeber of the Anahiem Police Department's S.W.A.T. team, Officer Smith was equiped with the right tools at the right time.  After a Placentia officer was shot there was a vehicle pursuit, which included several agencies and a number of officers.  At the termination of the pursuit, shots were fired and action needed to be taken.  Officer Smith took action and defeated an armed suspect.

Air Bags

Air BagsEvery law enforcement jurisdiction handles traffic accidents.  Air bags have been a fact of life since approximately 1985.  Officers should be aware of what they are and how they work.  When officers respond to an accident scene they should be aware of the precautions necessary in handling a deployed air bag or the disposal of one that has not yet deployed.  Officers also need to be aware of the hazardous materials that are associated with a deployed air bag.
